POAC’27 invites contributions on all aspects of ice engineering, winter navigation, and offshore and coastal operations in ice-covered waters. All papers are peer-reviewed.

Abstract submission

Abstract submission is open from November 1 to December 15, 2026. Our abstract and paper submission are done through EasyChair submission system. You can start your abstract submission by clicking the following link:

Abstracts should from 100 to 250 words. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by January 15, 2027. When submitting, please select the theme that best matches your work:

3. IGS/POAC joint session: Sea ice geophysics and engineering

4. Ice loads on ships and offshore structures

Special sessions

We are currently planning the following special sessions to be organized at POAC’27: "remote sensing", "ice as infrastructure", "sustainable shipping" and "Open information systems for safe and efficient ice navigation". If you would like to contribute to a special session, select the theme closest to your work and give the special session name in the additional information field.

Full paper submission

Authors of accepted abstracts are invited to submit a maximum 10 page full paper for peer review by February 15, 2027. Paper templates and author guidelines will be published on this page in December 2026. Accepted papers will be published in the POAC’27 conference proceedings (electronic). At least one author of each paper must register for and present at the conference.
